Arnold Newman

Arnold Abner Newman was born March 3, 1918 in New York, New York.
He grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey & then he later moved to Miami Beach, Florida in 1936 where he studied painting & drawing at the University of Miami.
He couldn't really afford to go to college so he moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania & worked at a studio there to make money.
In 1945 he moved back too Florida & opened his own portrait studio.
In 1946 he moved back to Manhattan  &  opened Arnold Newman Studios & also worked as a photographer for Fortune, Life & Newsweek.
He died June 6, 2006 in his hometown (New York, New York) .

Arnold Newman was known for his abstract & still life photos as well as environmental portraits of artist & politicians.
